Mr. Alan Silva graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2005 with a B.A. in English and a minor in anthropology. After college, he worked as a full-time high school English teacher in Ridgecrest. In 2008, he earned his M.A. at San Diego State University and wrote a thesis entitled “Claims of Identity in Bret Harte’s Gabriel Conroy.” He has worked as an adjunct instructor and English tutor at Grossmont College since 2008 [sic]. He currently teaches (and makes art).
Alan was the 2007-2008 Associated Students Graduate Student Association President at SDSU, the founder and editor-in-chief of SDSU’s art and scholastic journal, Pandemonium, and a SDICCCA faculty intern at Grossmont College. He is currently conducting research about philosophy and religion in the ancient world.
